Xcode: No signing certificate "iOS Development" found
Xcode can’t find a valid code-signing certificate + private key for the selected team in your keychain.
Seen on:
iOS
Meaning
Signing requires the certificate *and* its private key. A certificate downloaded on another Mac without the key, an expired/revoked cert, or a wrong team selection all cause this.
Common causes
- No Apple Development certificate created for this Mac
- Private key missing (certificate made on another machine)
- Certificate expired or revoked
- Wrong team selected in Signing & Capabilities
- CI machine without the .p12 imported
⚡ Quick fix
- Enable “Automatically manage signing” and select your team
- Xcode → Settings → Accounts → Manage Certificates → + Apple Development
- Export/import the .p12 (cert + key) from the original Mac
- For CI, use fastlane match or import the .p12 into a temporary keychain
Detailed fix by platform
iOS
security find-identity -v -p codesigninglists usable identities on the machine.
How to diagnose
- Identities — Any valid identity listed?
- Team — Correct team selected?
- Key — Private key present?
